Diana Dunn enjoys a varied career in music that encompasses her love of performance and teaching. She is the Principal Oboist of the Atlanta Opera, where her 2019 performance in Richard Strauss’ Salome earned praise as “bewitching” in Arts Atlanta. She also plays with the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra, Gateway Chamber Orchestra, and in recording sessions in Nashville. Her private oboe students regularly place highly in All-State and region competitions.
Diana received a bachelor’s degree in oboe performance from the Eastman School of Music and a master’s degree from Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music, where she studied with Richard Killmer and Robert Atherholt, respectively. Her oboe career has taken her around the region and world, including performances in Russia, Japan, and China. Diana is a registered Suzuki Early Childhood Education teacher and received her training in 2014 in London, Ontario from the program’s founder, Dorothy Jones, and her daughter, Sharon Jones.
